Members of the STRiDE project team are joining the Alzheimer’s Disease International Conference between 9 June and 11 June 2022. Over the course of the first day today there were a number of highlights.

STRiDE Brazil

Our colleague Carolina Godoy presented a poster showcasing findings on stigma and dementia in Brazil:

STRiDE India

Our colleague and ARDSI chairperson Meera Pattabiraman presented on barriers to diagnosing dementia in India at a plenary talk. She shared findings on the consequences of not knowing a diagnosis in India and across the STRiDE project countries:

Colleagues Saadiya Hurzuk, Jayeeta Rajagopalan and Priya Thomas presented a poster:

Jayeeta Rajagopalan presented findings from in-depth analysis of direct and indirect costs of providing unpaid care for people living with dementia in India drawing on interviews and insights:

She was joined by LSE’s Emily Freeman to present the economic cost and consequences of dementia care in India. Emily introduced the qualitative study of the costs and impacts of providing family care for people living with dementia carried out through the STRiDE project:

STRiDE Indonesia

The Director of Public Health of Indonesia, Dr Maria Endag Simiwi, included research through the STRiDE project in Indonesia in her report of the progress towards the Global Action Plan on Dementia:
