Generating quantitative evidence on the impact and costs of dementia

Leads

  • Sube Banerjee

We are generating new evidence about the prevalence, costs, and impact of dementia in low and middle-income countries (LMICs). This is being achieved in three phases:

  1. A systematic review of existing literature on the prevalence of dementia for the seven STRiDE countries and review existing evidence on impact and costs of dementia
  2. Search, screen, critically appraising and testing of a series of instruments for data collection in seven STRiDE countries. We are comparing psychometric properties of instruments where there are competing candidates
  3. Conducting generalizable epidemiologically valid population based studies of dementia prevalence and costs in Indonesia and South Africa.
