WORK PACKAGE 5
Generating quantitative evidence on the impact and costs of dementia
Leads
- Sube Banerjee
We are generating new evidence about the prevalence, costs, and impact of dementia in low and middle-income countries (LMICs). This is being achieved in three phases:
- A systematic review of existing literature on the prevalence of dementia for the seven STRiDE countries and review existing evidence on impact and costs of dementia
- Search, screen, critically appraising and testing of a series of instruments for data collection in seven STRiDE countries. We are comparing psychometric properties of instruments where there are competing candidates
- Conducting generalizable epidemiologically valid population based studies of dementia prevalence and costs in Indonesia and South Africa.
