Table 40 outlines the deaths, Years lived with disability (YLD), Years of lives lost (YLL), and Disability Adjusted Life Years (DALYs) level 4 caused by Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias in 2019 according to the Global Burden of Disease study (Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation, n.d.). Dementia was the third most common cause of death with over 2,000 deaths attributable to dementia, almost twice as many as in 2000 (where dementia ranked 6^th with 1,144 deaths).
