Table 39 outlines the years of lives lost (YLL) due to dementia from the 2019 Global burden of disease report (Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation, n.d.). Alzheimer’s and other dementias ranked as the 7^th highest cause of YLL, up from 12^th 20 years earlier, at 20,000 years.
